Pre-teen, teen, cooperative, short, compact
2-4 players (2-6 with Forbidden Desert* see below)
Treasure hunters find four ancient relics on an ominous island, what could go wrong? Forbidden Island has you and three others work together to rescue the four relics before the island sinks into the ocean, taking the relics, and you with it! Each of you is a specialist with different skills to help you race to get the relics. Cooperation is key in this game, as the longer the game goes on, the more dangerous the island gets. Do you and your companions have what it takes to defeat the island?
We love this game! It’s a different way to play a board game because you work together (see Pandemic) to achieve a goal and are playing against time and odds. It’s a great way to teach teamwork, cooperation, group problem solving, and it’s crazy fun! Have a bigger family than 4? No worries, the makers of Forbidden Island have a larger game called Forbidden Desert. The sequel allows up to 6 players to join in on the fun!
Skills: Cooperation, problem-solving, strategy and logic
