Hero Status for Hero Spark!

Want to help one of our awesome board members earn Hero Status with Hero Spark? Our board is competing to see who can reach #HeroStatus first. What’s Hero Status? $5k raised to benefit Hero Spark’s unplugged programming throughout Orlando. Here’s YOUR chance to meet our board and support your favorite team!

Teams are:

#TeamAl (Al Sterling, For Geek’s Sake)

#TeamAndi (Andi Perez, Yelp)

#TeamAlex (Alex Lenhoff, Tetra Tech)

#TeamGrace (Grace Gonzalez Hearst Television)

#TeamGreg (Greg Trujillo CTS Agency)

#TeamRobbie (Rob Gerke, Nova Southeastern University)

#TeamRachael (Rachael Swertfeger, Hero Spark)

and of course…

#TEAMPHIL (You know… me!) Who wants to show my board who has the original #HeroStatus?!

You can donate today by going to our Facebook, this link, or through to support your favorite team! Be sure to add on the Special Instructions which team it’s for otherwise, it will go to a random team (to be determined by a dice roll)! And thank you for your support!

Great Start to the Year!

Early in September we kicked off the After School Adventures programs at the Downtown and the South Trail branches and couldn’t have asked for a better Welcome Back! At both locations, we had fantastic turnouts and enthusiastic students ready to jump into homework help and gaming!

We feel this is going to be an amazing year as we have so much planned! We have a checkers tournament, a creative swap of gaming ideas between both branches, and lots of stories to be told. As the semester and school year continue, we’ll be bringing you some exciting new stories and additions to our programs, so stay tuned.

After School Adventures

Mondays – Thursdays 3:30pm-5:30pm at South Trail Branch and Downtown Branch libraries.

Need homework help? Want to play games? Then check out either of our fantastic locations for just that! Finish your homework and then dive into any of our awesome tabletop games or learn to play a new board game. Even learn to run your own Dungeons and Dragons game and take on the mantle of being the GM!

Warhammer Kill Team Program

Fridays 12pm – 2pm at Warhammer Store in Winter Park.

Does the thought of the building a huge army and going to battle seem daunting? Try getting into the newest version of the hobby with Warhammer Kill Team! You build, paint, and play with a small team of individual models, each with their own backstory and history, and play through a whole narrative-based campaign to see whose team will be the victor! Does your team of elite soldiers have what it takes to survive their quest? Find out by coming to our program and making your first team! For more information, please email

#HeroStatus Fundraiser

We will be running an online fundraiser! This is your chance to support your favorite non-profit organization and have some friendly competition! Donate to your team of choice (or let the dice of fate decide which team is deserving) today! Go here to donate now! And thank you for your support!
