Phil Zoshak

Founder, Executive Director, “Paladin” of Hero Spark

Phil holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Central Florida. After college, Phil served in the Americorp program Public Allies, where he was recognized for his service by taking part in the Public Allies 2013 National Leadership Conference. When not working tirelessly at Hero Spark, Phil, of course, spends his time as an uber nerd, hanging out at his favorite nerd spots Campus Cards & Games, The Warhammer Store, and Cool Stuff Games. Phil is happily married to his wife Amanda, and probably has the cutest rescue greyhound ever, Lady.

Rachael Swertfeger

Programs & Volunteer Coordinator, “Bard” of Hero Spark

Rachael joined the Hero Spark family as a volunteer in 2017 and eventually joined the crew officially in late 2017. Rachael is in charge of organizing the volunteers, managing programs, editing and maintaining the website, and anything other administration work that comes across her desk. When she’s not working with the kids, she can usually be found gaming in some fashion. Dungeons & Dragons has been a key part of Rachael’s life spending many weekends deep in dungeons with her friends, working or listening to podcasts, and any other number of nerdy activities revolving around gaming.
